Josiah was a quick thinker. He was good at many, many things; which explained his cutie mark being a swiss army knife. As for the four-leaved clover over it... well, honestly he never liked admitting he was lucky or anything like that, he believed everypony made their own luck. But for now; keeping his head out of the current crappy situation they had gotten themselves into was his number one priority... and so far, everything was going according to plans. They'd go through the back of the castle and take the utility corridors; the princess didn't appreciate having too much traffic in the main halls... odds were they were well-concealed and that the sand ponies didn't find about it yet given they had just barged in and were too busy assaulting the main and obvious areas. And it wouldn't take long for Josiah to lead them so such a place, first finding the kitchens and going through them. There they'd find a door with a simple passage which would lead them wherever they needed, safely. At least, in theory. ---------- And surprisingly enough, they had made it through. After taking several passages, Josiah had managed to take them all to the castle's underground caves. Already the place itself would've been quite a challenge to find on it's own... what that would follow, even more so. (( www.youtube.com/watch?v=esx9kfj47ZU )) The place they were in was dark, stalagmites and stalactites were just about everywhere around them, drops of water as well as the flowing of a small water current could be heard. What light there was could barely be perceived from where they stoodat this point. Josiah would stop, taking the opportunity to evaluate their current situation. First of all, they needed light. He could provide that. What was a good adventurer without his portable source of light? Josiah: Alright, Jolly, was it? You and the blue pegasus... with... holy crap are your eyes glowing? He'd ask, he'd then look at him a bit more, squinting his eyes... seems like he had some weird blue-ish outlines to his face as well... and to some of his extremities that weren't hidden by his monk robe. As for the angels, their whole self, eyes and halo mostly however, seemed to be glowing a faint source of light on their own. Though, he'd snap out of it quickly enough. Josiah: Riiight. Okay. Anyway, you two make sure the pink one's not braindead. Demetrius would only give a brief look at her... Demetrius: She kinda passed out a while ago. Too much emotions for her, sleeping like a log. At this he'd simply nod as he'd then reach for one of his pouches, from it, he'd pull out a small gem which would start glowing as soon as he gave it a gentle rub. The trinket would then start to levitate and float around him, providing them enough light to see their surrounding. A magical device, it would seem. He'd then point at the golden griffin. Josiah: And you take a look at that maid you picked up; see if you can't find anything better for her wound now that we're out of trouble. He'd then start walking toward a wall, examining it, tapping at it with his hooves. Josiah: Just let me find that secret passage... s'been a while since I haven't used it. It's very well concealed. The golden griffon would let the maid get on the ground where he'd then be able to get a better look at her. Though, before he'd do any of that, he'd smile at her, trying to comfort her in a way. She seemed to be at lost for words as well as rather on edge. Smalltalk would to the trick, perhaps, may as well start with basic questions... he wasn't much of a talker. Gorudo: So... What's your name? The maid would look at him, beaming a smile. Maid Pony: My name is Madge! A simple answer for a rather simple name. But that was a start. Just with that question she already seemed to be easing off some of her tension. Might as well keep the simple questions coming. Gorudo: For how long have you been a maid in here? He'd ask, as he'd begin to remove the makeshift bandage he had made her. The bleeding had stopped, but the wound still seemed to be pretty nasty... that bolt she received back there probably wasn't very clean. Madge: Ohhh, for not too long, mr. griffin! I was given a temporary job in the castle while the family I usually work for went out for vacation, the Montgomry! She'd say, seemingly beaming with careless joy all of the sudden. More concentrated on the wound than the current discussion however, the griffin would make quick work of answering Madge before he'd get Falina's attention, given she was standing not too far from him. Gorudo: Can't say I've heard of them... Say, Falina, would you happen to have anything to disinfect this? Proper bandages would help as well. Anything? This wound looks pretty nasty... Meanwhile, as Josiah would be busy trying to find the secret opening, he'd take the opportunity to explain things a bit further. A small history lesson, perhaps, that would shed some light on the subject. Josiah: Right, might as well tell you how I found out about this passage while I'm looking for the damn switch. So yeah, as I said, that thing was an old passage way for smuggling. Smuggling items and goods of the illegal type. Shady business. Business the princesses didn't even know about, all of this was taking place right under their noses! The mastermind behind all this was the infamous pegasus named "Black Powder". Perhaps you've heard of him... I sure did. Going a bit more to the left, seeing some sort of patterns, he'd chuckle as he'd begin to look there. Josiah: Too bad I never got to see him in person... Let's say I was a fan of his handywork! He'd say, pulling out his revolver momentarily before tucking it back in, still busy searching. Josiah: This pony was a genius of weapon craftsmanship, and he knew how to run a business in the black market for sure. However, his glory days were short lived; a few years after that glorious bastard simply... vanished one day. Some say something bad happened to him... some say he died, others said he commit suicide, others that he simply had enough and left... others claim one of his inventions killed him, or that he ended up assassinated by somepony. Hears and tales, really. If you ask me though, I'm sure he's still alive; Somepony as smart as him knows better than dying... so soon anyway. He'd pause as he'd shift a little more to the left. Josiah: Aside that he was wanted for many things. Fraud, stealing, use of illegal weaponry and magical artifacts, assault, illegal trade and affairs, fake bits making... and finally but not least: possession of mass-destruction weapons and devices. Heck, even Celestia herself became concerned with him and put a price on his head, can you imagine? And finally, he found what he was looking for. A brick with the "Black Powder Industries" logo printed on it. Basically a cog with the letter "B.P" inside of it. Josiah: Ahah! That's where you were hiding... Pressing on it, the walls in front of them would start to shift as magical seals would light up, the whole portion of it sliding to the left as it would reveal a passage... rather damp and narrow, barely enough to fit one or two ponies wide. Josiah: Aaaaand that's our ticket out of here! I'd say ladies first? Eh? Eh? He'd say looking at Falina. Josiah: Hahah... haa.. No? Oh screw it. And with that, he'd go in. Behind, Demetrius would look at the kids... and then at Jolly, giving them a dumb smile, nudging the purple pegasus on the shoulder. Demetrius: Cave explorers! Adventure! Yayyy! -----meanwhile, elsewhere----- After the takeover of Canterlot complete one of the commanding sand ponies would come back to his superior... He wouldn't even dare looking at him. Although their operation seemed like a complete success... they had failed miserably their main objective. As he was getting closer, his legs would start to tremble. He was there... cloaked. Sitting on top of a hill with his piercing red, glowing eyes staring at the smoking castle. Motionless. Silent. Lead officer: S-sir... the takeover went smoothly and with neglectable casualties... but... At this dreaded last word, his gaze would lock with the officer's terrified eyes. Lead officer: T-the princesses and... the elements... as well as those individuals y-you had described to us, my lord, have escaped! T-they teleported out of the castle! I... I am sorry my lord... I-I have failed you... A heavy silence would take place as he'd silently get up from his sitting spot. He'd walk by him and simply head down the hill, letting a cold feeling in the officer's spine. ????: Mark my words, this is the last time you fail me. The officer would only bow, almost burring his face in the dirt as his gloomy superior would walk away... he had his life spared for now. Once further, the somber pony would only mutter few words under his breath out of spite. ????: Do I really have to do everything by myself... incompetent weaklings...

Throughout their walking the angels kept a look around the place. Taka took the time to also discuss some with Jolly, trying to at least put him at ease. He did the same speaking some with Violet and the girls behind when he could, telling them about angels and all of that, keeping them distracted as well from the current situation. Already everypony was starting to feel better due to the lack of sand ponies around as well as simply being protected by four ponies and a griffin. The place was clean of any traces of battle. The fillies didn't have to keep their eyes on the adult in front of them anymore.
The tension in the group wasn't as high anymore. It's once on place to the underground caves of the castle that Jolly and the others would start looking around just to get an idea of where they were... rather unusual.
At Josiah's explanations, right after the adventurer had noticed how... different Demetrius was, Jolly would give a quick look at Pinkie Pie, simply to notice that she was indeed asleep there. They'd have to do something mostly only if she was waking up and hopefully she wouldn't freak out.
Since the place was rather safe, Falina decided to have a look around a little. She'd spread her wings and fly at low altitude just to explore some and also giving herself a short break. Yet she'd quickly come back down when she heard Josiah starting to give orders to others... not that she was liking it given how they met before, but she knew better than to not cooperate with allies. He was on their side after all. She had landed not too far from Gorudo and decided to observe him taking care of the maid they had saved. From where she was she'd look at the wound, although not so clear because of the darkness of the place, even if they had light, she could see the mark where the bolt had landed as well as the wound itself, of course.
Shortly after Gorudo would be asking for her help... and she would give him a smile as well as a nod, happy to do something. To tell the truth she had nothing to disinfect... well nothing material. She'd approach the maid and Gorudo and would kneel down to her, horn starting to give a blue glow.
Falina: This might sting a little.
She'd say. An aura of the same color as her horn's glow would appear around the wound and immediately the maid could feel it work inside.
Falina: Since we were in a hurry earlier, I was unable to cast this for it requires me to concentrate. Else I would have said so sooner.
She'd explain and pause some before saying what this magic was exactly.
Falina: This is divine magic that us angels have. It'll cure and disinfect wounds... slowly.
Her healing magic was something which could purify the inside of a body. The bigger the wound, though, the longer it'd take. The same would be applied with infections, but in this case, it was something she could easily deal with.
Meanwhile Taka didn't have much to do at this time other than to listen to Josiah explain some part of his life as well as somepony else's. Well while Jolly was with Demetrius keeping himself close to Pinkie, he was with the kids. Josiah's story sounded interesting and all, but not as much for the fillies, it seemed, for the three of them looked up at Taka having questions marks in their eyes. He'd look down at them and give them a grin before he'd be asked.
Scootaloo: Um... What's your cutie mark, exactly?
The filly pegasus would ask him. Taka would quickly look at his cutie mark before coming back to them.
Taka: Oh this? It's a chess piece! I got it when I was young, about your age, even. It pretty much represents my... how should I put it? Um... Smartness? See, it's just that I think above the average and proved myself to be a good strategist. I think before I act!
He'd come to explain to them.
Scootaloo: You can have a cutie mark just for being smart?...
She'd ask rather puzzled, the two others seeming to be confused as well. The angel would eye them left and right quickly.
Taka: It's more than that, really... Thinking, analyzing and finding solutions has always been something I liked to do in my youth. The more I was doing it, the more I liked it too! The day I came to realise that and that I wanted to put this to use is when my cutie mark revealed itself!
He'd tell them ending it with a chuckle. The way he spoke to them he was always putting some gestures into it as well as a joyful tone in his voice. The fillies would get up on their hooves looking up, smiling. To think you could aquire a cutie mark just because you were smart! You could really get one for absolutely anything! That would open more doors for those three for sure, wouldn't it?
Apple Bloom: Do you think we coud' get our cutie marks with that too?
One of them would ask, the two others agreeing. The angel then would chuckle once more before giving them some more explanation about that. He had to say, he was happy to just be there at this moment, out of trouble for now.
Their little chatting would come to an end though as they'd be interrupted by the secret passage opening, the light from the seals getting all of their attention. After the introduction to their exit, Falina had gotten up, being done with her spell, the wound being closed and healed. She looked rather confused.
Falina: Uuuh....
Was he mocking her or not? Was he sincere?... Before she could even give him an answer, he had given up already and went in. Oh well.... she'd simply follow.
Demetrius giving a call on that cave explorer thing sure lightened the spirit of the fillies and they bounced in joy at that, thinking that it could be a way to discover their special talents and went forward with Taka following immediately. Violet decided to stay by Jolly and simply smiled. As for the therapist, the nudging he didn't see coming, but the light attitude of the dark pegasus made him chuckle some, a little uncomfortable at first, but quickly getting over it.
Jolly: I guess so!
He'd give as an answer before he'd start following the rest of the group along with his niece.

Gorudo had to admit, he didn't know much about angels. Sure, he had heard of them. He knew they were quite rare as well as powerful. Beings of mysteries for him, really. Other than that, this would be the perfect opportunity for him to study them and learn firsthand about them. Already he knew about their apparent fighting skills, but would it go beyond that?
When Falina would come over and offer her help, he'd figure she was perhaps more adept than him at first aid; she most-likely had proper tools and knowledge to deal with this situation better than he. Though, as she'd approach and use healing magic, the griffin would take a double-take on that. He had seen... lots of magics in this world... and this one he had yet to seen; healing magic. Not the type that they give you in hospitals... this one was the kind that literally sealed wounds... on-the-spot.
Gorudo: That is quite impressive, I have to admit.
Madge would barely flinch at the pain that she could've experience at that. Thing was, she was used to much rougher treatments where she usually worked. She'd keep her carefree smile as she'd look up at Falina. Honestly, she too had heard of angels as well as the kingdom where they resided. Since she was nothing but a little filly she always dreamed of living there. Reaching 46 years however, faith seemed like it would have it another way as she was stuck serving a family in Canterlot instead.
To see one actually next to her, healing her and taking care of her brought her immense joy as well as admiration. She didn't know what to say, nor what to do. Perhaps keep it simple, like she was used to. Be true to herself and not go around it.
Madge: I... am not from your kingdom, but each nights that passed, I prayed!
She'd held the angel's hoof gently, looking at her in the eyes, still smiling.
Madge: I don't know if you could hear me... but I'm happy you came to my aid, madame!
Eventually the wound would heal itself, slowly but surely. The group would for all of them to be ready to carry on their journey through the secret passage. As they'd head inside, the wall would slide back shut behind them, leaving no trace of them ever being there.
-----
Fifteen minutes or so later, their adventure would lead them to a defected sewers complex. The place had no water running anywhere, valves and tubes were holed and rusted. It didn't smell bad or anything for it's been literally hundreds of years since they've ever been of use. Aside lots of spider webs and various creature's skeletons, this place had been entirely sealed off. At this Josiah would smile as he'd take a look around.
Josiah: What Black Powder did was actually pretty brilliant; the took the ancient abandoned sewer lines and used it to deliver the goods all around Canterlot. These sewers weren't good enough to handle the growing population; so they had to make a new one entirely, leaving this one behind... but, heh... you know what they say; one's trash is an other's treasure!
At this Demetrius would remain silent, simply following Jolly around with the fillies, staying next to him, Pinkie Pie on his back, still asleep. As for Gorudo, he'd examine his surroundings... admittedly, he was scared for this place being booby-trapped... so far however, everything seemed safe. As for Madge, she'd keep herself close to the angels.
They'd go in a beeline until they'd eventually reach an intersection. At this, Josiah would sigh.
Josiah: Aww crap... I don't remember this part ever being here. Hold on... let me... uhh... try and remember.
He'd look left and right, bringing his hooves to his waist as he'd then scratch his head. Quite the conundrum. If only he had made a map last time he came through here. However, as he'd be decisive between left and right, his eyes would spot something... in the ground a trap door. Rusted and locked... it seemed reinforced as well. Under normal circumstances he'd be able to pick the lock; but now everything was fused by the rust.
He'd pull out his crowbar he carried with him... squeeze it in there and try to pry it... to no avail. He'd then look at the rest of the group, looking a bit exasperated.
Josiah: Staring's not really helpful...
Demetrius would look at Jolly for an instant and chuckle before turning his attention back to the sand pony.
Demetrius: Ahhh fine, guess I'll help then.
He'd say, on a slightly mocking tone, winking at Jolly. Getting there, he'd simply assume a position, pull his right hoof back and slam in down, literally smashing it through the rock. He'd then grab the metal plate and pull. The thing would groan in protest until it would eventually rip itself off the concrete. Once done, he'd toss it aside, reveling a black hole for somepony to creep down into.
Josiah would be... flabbergasted by the sudden display of strength. Slightly annoyed by that he'd look at Jolly as he'd point at him.
Josiah: Stay normal. Please. I'm Starting to feel out of place here.
He'd then point at Madge.
Josiah: And you too.
At this she'd nod with a smile, pretty much clueless. Then, the adventurer would head down the hole... on a wooden ladder. Which was rotted. The thing would snap few steps down and he'd just fall in there, yelling... and seemingly landing in some other wooden stuff, breaking under the impact. Crates or barrels, perhaps.

The sound of their hooves on the ground would change as they began walking on metal, arriving in the sewers complex. The change of the area was easily noticeable there. They'd keep on following the others. The look of their whereabouts didn't help in reassuring everyone, though. The place had no activity going, sure... but the spiderwebs everywhere as well as the skeletons of small creatures spreaded around was like they were in a horror story right now. The cutie mark crusaders kept themselves together while Violet remained on her guards next to her uncle. Behind them was Taka who would act as a rear guard while Falina was walking with the maid next to her.
Apple Bloom: Am not sure 'bout this place, girls...
The young farm filly said, head low in fear. Sweetie Belle would be doing the same, having a look of worry.
Scootaloo: Heh, we're with angels! We'll be...
The young pegasus looked around and gulped at the sight after she paused from her sentence. Her confidence quickly disappeared.
Scootaloo: … fine...
She'd end up saying before she'd get closer to the two others. Behind them Taka watched on them. Hearing them talk, it was obvious they were not feeling so well in a place like this. But he kept himself silent for the moment as he'd simply keep on walking.
As for Jolly he didn't seem too concerned about it. When they had gotten in there, just by looking at the others and hearing what Josiah had to say, he felt there was no need to panic. The place seemed safe enough if he trusted the adventurer's judgement. He had no word to share on it, though... it was quite surprising to hear that a place under Canterlot was used for delivering things while the princesses probably had no idea. He guessed it was a good thing for their present situation... they needed it to escape, after all.
As they kept walking, they'd be traveling in a beeline. Violet behind Falina and Jolly right behind his niece, then followed by Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, ending with Taka right behind them, still. The three young ones wouldn't keep themselves quiet all this time, though... as they kept walking into this place with nothing happening, they pretty much had gotten over the fact that spiders and skeletons were in the place. It took only one wrong step...
Sweetie Belle looked around a little while walking and accidentally accelerated her walking pace a little only to step on Apple Bloom's tail by mistake, restraining her from going any further and Scootaloo not noticing this, ended up bumping into her friend right in front of her, resulting in the three of them to stop advancing and falling. Immediately Apple Bloom turned around.
Apple Bloom: Careful! Watch where you walk, Sweetie Belle!
She'd tell her annoyed. Yet Sweetie Belle wouldn't go without defending herself!
Sweetie Belle: Well... If you were walking faster, this wouldn't have happened!
Apple Bloom: So it's mah fault naow?!
The farm filly would retork at her. Of course, Scootaloo wasn't going to be left out from this small fight.
Scootaloo: Cut it out! I'll take the lead then! I'm probably faster than you two anyway, so no one's gonna trip!
And so they'd keep at it for some more... telling who's in the wrong and who's right. They weren't being very quiet now, so... everyone else would be able to hear them. Jolly looked behind him, preparing to interfer and put a stop to this. Yet before he'd have the time to put some order into this, the three of them would be lifted off the ground in a purple magical aura. Taka was the reason for this, but the three of them had stopped insulting each other at least, but the fact they were taken by surprise didn't calm them at once.
Scootaloo: W-what's going on?!
She'd ask while being held in the air head down. The three of them would be turned around to face the angel in question who didn't look as happy as earlier...
Taka: I'll ask you to behave from now on... If walking's too much of a hassle for you three, then...
At that they'd come floating above him and would gently land on his back as he'd spread his wings a little to give them enough space. He'd give a look back at them.
Taka: … you'll have to stay on my back!
He'd smirk at them. The three of them would happily cheer as they were now on the back of an angel. They'd have a tale to tell later on with this one, for sure!
Taka: I'll be serious, though... I'll ask you to behave or it's back on the ground. We stay calm now, m'kay?
Again they would calm down and look down as they thought of their previous actions. Then all at the same time they would apologize to the angel. Jolly still at the front witnessed this and smiled at Taka before he'd get on walking again with everyone else.
An intersection would show up and the group would stop at it with Josiah trying to remember which way to go again. No one really had anything to say here... Josiah was the one who knew the place the most. Still, Falina would look around with her eyes, trying to see if she couldn't find something, but before she'd be able to, their guide had already found out which way to go... Through the floor! Or not! After a failed attempt at trying to open the door, they'd only stare at him. That thing seemed to be stuck there and it didn't want to cooperate much... Josiah then 'asked' for help from someone in the group. Jolly was obviously not the stallion they needed for physical tasks here, but Demetrius had volunteered after he mocked the adventurer a little. The therapist looked at him giving a wink. He couldn't help but to smirk at this. He just had met the guy, but he could tell he was a fun guy.
Shortly after, the dark blue pegasus did his demonstration on how to open rusted doors with immense strenght... In the back the fillies would all watch in awe as he simply removed it. Jolly... well he was rather impressed. He was witnessing this pegasus doing a lot of things many wouldn't be able to do. He'd be standing there, eyes wide opened amazed by the scene. He'd be taken out of his trance once Josiah told him to stay normal... Shaking his head a little, he wouldn't be sure what to answer exactly to that.
Jolly: Uuh... I doubt you need to worry about that, really...
That's what he found to say. Yet all in all, now the door removed from there, it meant that they could progress and the guide was the first one to go down the hole. Shortly after they'd hear a sound followed by a scream. Everyone pretty much gasped at this point and the angels acted immediately.
Taka: Falina!
He'd call her. She'd answer by looking at him and he would simply gesture with his head to tell her to go down the hole. A quick nod and the angel jumped down the hole using her wings to slow down her fall. Once on the other side, she'd already see him in a pile of wooden material. Quickly she'd get to him and would kneel down.
Falina: Quite the fall, there...
She'd comment before starting to cast her healing spell on him, slowly starting to close any wound he could have. She didn't want to take any chances on this one...

Okay. That he did not saw coming. Honestly; everything was made out of steel and concrete... why on Equis would this ladder be made out of bucking wood?! Having known he would've taken better care when he went down that hellhole. He was a professional explorer, after all. Daring Doo ain't had shit on him. Or so he thought anyway... because that could easily have been qualified as an amateur's mistake. Long story short, his ego had taken one major blow right there. Josiah: *Cough cough!* Ugh... damn! Getting his bearing back in line, he'd then begin to struggle his way out of this mess, eventually managing to do so, dusting off all rotten wooden bits off of him, as well as the dust. He'd then look as Falina would come rushing down to his aid, her comment rubbing him off the wrong way as he'd narrow his eyes. When she'd start using her ocus-pocus magic or whatever on him, he'd simply grunt as he'd push away of her horn. Probably that same fancy healing magic she used back there on that maid... he didn't need any of that. What was he, a foal? Those were just superficial scratches at most for crying out loud. Josiah: Oh knock it off, will you? I'm fine! He'd then squint his eyes... having a hard time to look around given the darkness of the place. His magical device had stayed up there, giving light to those that were now above him... The result being that he could only make out, perhaps, what seemed to be a crate or two. Grunting once more, he'd pull out something else from his pocket... pull on it and reveal the thing to be a distress flare. Holding it with his teeth, he'd then take a better look around. This seemed to be a stash. A small-sized one, but crammed with boxes. All of them having the "B.P" logo on it. At this Josiah would chuckle. Josiah: Wew wew wew! Now sho bab mm? He'd say with a mouthful. Spitting out his flare he'd then hoof it over at Falina as he'd grab hold of his trusty crowbar. Josiah: Make yourself useful, hold this while I open these! He'd say as he'd head toward the first few crates. Meanwhile, above them, Demetrius would stick his head in the hole, looking upside-down. Demetrius: Is everything okay? Is this the way out? He'd ask, bemused. At this Josiah would barely look over his shoulder as he'd be busy prying open a box. Josiah: Eh... hold on, will ya? Kinda busy at the moment. Just stay put! At this Demetrius would pull his head out and look at the others, shrugging. He'd then look at Jolly, smiling at him. Demetrius: Seems like they found a little something down there. So why don't you tell me a bit more about yourself meanwhile, huh? You seem like you have lots of interesting things to say! Meanwhile, Josiah would be down at his fifth crate... so far, only useless part of various type of weaponry as well as large, rusted, useless shells. Whatever weapon fired those had to be immense. The sixth one would only have bandoleers, the seventh just some instruction manuals with some lubricant for oiling parts. Josiah: Ugh, comon, don't fail me now! The last crate would be smaller, rectangular in shape. At this he'd let out a nervous sigh as he'd stuck his crowbar in the crack, pulling at it as the wooden lid would groan in protest before eventually popping off. The thing was filled with packing peanuts. It HAD to be valuable, then! Putting his crowbar back, he then start shuffling though it all, his hooves grabbing hold of something. Immediately, he'd pull it out... his eyes growing and becoming round as dishplates at the sight of it. He'd hold it in a way for Falina to see. He was literally speechless. (( wizzywizzyweb.gmgcdn.com/media/products/killing-floor-community-weapon-pack-2/screenshots/large-6-640x350.jpg )) Josiah: W-wow. This is... just... oh wow... oh man! Hahaha!! Heartwarming Eve came in early for me this year! Do you have... any idea what this is? He'd ask, taking a better look at it still... not believing how perfect it had been preserved. It was probably brand new! Josiah: This is... a treasure of the legendary scale. This is a weapon... similar to the one I have, but much... much better! I can't tell with absolute certainty, but I think I may be holding something Black Powder himself may have created and built out of his very own hooves. He'd grab the thing, getting a feel for it as he assumed a shooting position without really having the intent of pulling the trigger on anything however. Josiah: I heard myths about some of his magical weapons; these would fire without ever running out of munitions. They'd never overheat or jam... and the sheer damage these things could spit out was simply ming-bogling. He'd chuckle. Josiah: He made only a hoof-full of those, sold them to very rich and important figures... Guess that one never made it to destination, hah!

The healing spell being in process, Falina would suddenly be pushed away by the horn and the spell would wear off. This was rather insulting! When all she wanted was to help and make sure he was fine because he was their guide to take them out of this mess, all she got for this was a rejection in a rude way! Oh... Oh how she 'loved' that guy. Still... this wasn't the time to show up any anger. She had to stay cool, it was temporary.
Seconds after she'd be thrown the flare which she'd catch with her magic. Again his way of speaking suggested that she was good only for that, again finding it rude. At this point she had just stopped talking and held the flare. She'd look behind her at the hole to see if anyone else was coming, but they decided to remain there. She'd come back to see what Josiah was up to and with the light she had she was able to see the crates as well... and many of them at that. She'd give a quick curious look at each one of them while the adventurer took out his crowbar to start opening them up. After what Demetrius called to ask and Josiah gave one vague answer to say he had found something. She'd shake her head slightly... it was like a child had fallen on a pile of toys.
Up there the others had pretty much remained there waiting. Jolly decided to approach the hole to see and from what he got, Josiah seemed to be fine despite this fall. Backing slightly from it, he'd look at Demetrius who had gotten his attention and... well the dark blue pegasus wanted to know more about the therapist, apparently! Like that at first he blinked a few times as he found this to be rather sudden, but would smile nonetheless. Oh ho... What was there that he could tell about himself now? He honestly didn't know where to start from, but he'd be nudged by Violet on the leg who'd look up at him then.
Violet: Tell him, uncle! He seems nice!
Jolly would laugh a little at this. That reminded him of something too! He didn't even had the time to properly introduce himself... He could always start with that.
Jolly: Well! Maybe that I should start with my name! I believe we didn't have the time to do that just yet.
He'd begin.
Jolly: I'm Jolly Thinker. And to be honest, I probably don't have much to say about myself... I'm from Ponyville, actually, which has now fallen in the hooves of those ponies... But I'm a therapist, if you want to know. I basically help others with life problems through speaking and few exercises that I offer them when needed.
He'd explain, then would take a short pause before looking at Violet down next to him.
Jolly: But I'm guessing that the most exciting thing that has happened in my life has to be her.
He'd come back to Demetrius and would chuckle.
Jolly: Her name is Violet Charm and she has quite the story, if I may say so myself. To make a short story, I found her near the Everfree Forest close to the town, unconscious and... well since then I agreed to take care of her until we'd be able to do something to find her parents or until they arrive here...
He'd say before an awkward silence would install itself, making him feel rather uncomfortable.
Jolly: Aah, well she's very well educated too! Ha ha...
At that he'd rub the back of his head a little, giving a silly smile at this and would clear his throat before continuing.
Jolly: Sooo what else could I say about myself, really...
Violet: He loves reading!
His niece decided to help him a little. She was certain that this would make the conversation go on. He had to speak about himself, after all!
Jolly: Well... that's true, I can't deny that! I'm quite the reader, I'd say. I like to read on all sort of things, should it be stories or just for general knowledge.
In the back Taka was also listening just because he didn't have anything else to do. He'd be concerned about Violet's story, but that was none of his business as well unless he'd be asked. Rather than interrupting them, he'd walk closer to the hole with the fillies still on his back and would lower his head towards it.
Taka: Hey what's going on? I wanna know!
Down there Falina would look back and walk towards the hole a little while keeping the light there in her magic aura.
Falina: Mister here found a few crates! He's opening them as we speak. He's pretty excited...
Taka: Hah! S'like a kid on Heartwarming Eve... I take that he's doing fine, then!
Then the adventurer had fallen on something special, apparently. Just by listening to him Falina could tell he had found some big treasure... well at least for him.
Falina: Yup.... And I think he found his perfect toy as well.
She'd say rolling her eyes. It wasn't like she could be excited for him after how he behaved towards her and the others when they all first met. She had to admit though that the features of that weapon were rather interesting.

Demetrius would listen to what the purple pegasus had to say... at least, enough to make himself a vague profile of him. He would've guesses by the glasses and perhaps his not-so-athletic build that he'd obviously wouldn't be much into manual labor and more on the intellectual side. His cutie mark being a dead giveaway as well... being a book. Honestly all of this he had already guessed but decided to ask him anyway for no particular reasons. At least now he knew that he was a therapist. And that Violet here wasn't her actual daughter.
He'd nod at Jolly as he'd beam him a smile, eyes as wide and as glowing as they were moments ago.
Demetrius: Right! So basically all this being quite the opposite of what you're used to, huh?
He'd say, chuckling.
Demetrius: Well don't worry your cute little face, we'll make it out of here in one piece, that I can assure you! Given for how long we walked, we must be already pretty far from Canterlot... from there it'll be traveling! We'll get to see stuff, visit places... and then get yourself a new cozy place to live until we can solve this problem! Oh and there will be camping and... and... stuff, y'know! Lots of it! Life's exiting that way!
He'd say, trying to cheer him the best he could. He had his doubts whether it would work or not, but he didn't had anything to lose, really. Anything to lighten up the mood in such a place.
Eventually Josiah would be coming out of the hole with his prized possession in hooves, followed by Falina. Once he'd be done presenting his newfound treasure, the whole group would eventually get a move on, finally finding their way out of there. There was light at the end of the tunnel, literally.
The exit was wide and giving out on a mountain side, the whole place was filled with random stuff, chairs, tables, stools, old empty crates and barrels as well as other equipment that was abandoned here. When those sewers were still active, water fell off straight out the mountain side and down... into oblivion. A forest. They had found the entry point of the smuggling tunnels, the dock where all the merchandise would be delivered by pegasi.
Now they simply needed a way down; there was more than enough winged individuals for that, honestly. Easily enough, all of them would eventually be down in the forest, safe and sound. For the time being, anyway. For now, they had to decide which way they'd be going next... their next move basically. They'd discuss for a while as they kept walking forth, getting as far as possible from Canterlot as they vanished in the thick and seemingly never-ending forest.
Moments later, as they argued over their plan, a voice from all around them would let itself heard. That same... gloomy and macabre aura the angels once felt would be there as well. Only this time much more present as well as intense.
A figure would leap out of the dark to land on a thick branch well above them. Wearing a cloak that hid his visage, only two glowing red eyes would be seen from it, glaring at them. His light sliver-blue horn would be poking out of his hood as well, reveling that he was, indeed, a unicorn. He had a katana attached to his belt, the handle being visible as well as the tip of the black sheath it was into. Tuffs of his black mane could be seen on the side as well... but aside that, his identity would remain rather incognito.
????: Most of my guards insisted on searching the Castle thinking you would've hidden there, cowards that you are.
He'd chuckle.
????: I knew you'd be worst than that and run away instead. Turns out that I was right after all... I shall be dealing with all of you myself...
He'd draw out his Katana as he'd point at Josiah.
???? And take back what's rightfully mine!
At this Josiah would grit his teeth... he still had that artifact he had shown to the princesses... he took it back, not wanting to let go of it in the end. He had grown attached to the damn thing. Then, the figure would jump down of the tree and leap toward him at supernatural speed, ready to slice the life out of him in an instant. The adventurer, barely having time to react, would lift his newfound rifle in an attempt to block the sword slash...
A very loud *KLANK!* Would echo throughout the place as Josiah would be knocked back. The sand pony would take a brief look at his rifle... there wasn't even a dent on it. At this he'd let out a chuckle as he'd smirk. Though, would lose that silly grin of his as he saw that guy coming back for round two.
Josiah: Aww crap...
He'd say, getting back on his hooves, trying to aim that rifle of his in time toward his target.

(( Some changes were made: - Pinkie Pie's less traumatized and back with the mane six. - That object Josiah is protecting will have re-defined attributes. - Jolly is now a florist and Violet has been replaced by Flower Dust, Jolly's breezie friend. - CMCs are left out of this story. Thank you and happy roleplaying! ^^))

Jolly had let out a nervous laugh when Demetrius came to point out that this situation was exactly what he was not used to. Indeed, the purple pegasus was used to live a life of tranquility with his breezie companion. But with the town now taken over by the sand ponies, it was something else...
All this time Flower Dust hid in his mane and came out when it was more calm. Although the mane of Jolly was a good place, remaining in there for too long was stifling. For the calmer parts she would stick out and hang onto his mane. At least she could feel like she was part of the bunch a little.
Demetrius' cheer was actually making it work. It was nice to daydream of those things even in a situation like this and just to see this pony be cheerful like that managed to ease the ambiance at least by a little. For Jolly it made him feel at least better. So much that he would even laugh a little.
Jolly : I guess it is exciting! I mean... Gotta try new things, right?
They were waiting anyway. Nothing else to do while the two others were still down in that hole. Falina yet had to come back with Josiah who had found something down there. Taka remained by the hole and looked down, although just like that he wasn't seeing anything. Nothing better to do, really. Anyway, they would eventually come out, the both of them. Once that done Josiah presented his newfound toy to the others. Taka didn't see what was so special about it just like that and Falina simply rolled her eyes...
Arriving at the end of the tunnel the group would come down. It all lead to a forest. Falina as well as Taka took care of taking the wingless ones down... well truly Josiah was the only one without wings there. It was better that way, then. Less work to do! Once down they would begin to walk into this forest after discussing a little about where they had to go to. Leaving the sights of Canterlot they headed further into the forest.
Discussing furthermore about their plan, Taka taking part of the conversation and Falina mostly listening, it then that the lady angel began to perceive something... something familiar and very unpleasant. That same thing she sensed back before they had arrived to the castle.
Falina : Wait...
She would say outloud to herself. The same macabre aura that she felt before was back. Once she turned around, whoever this was decided to jump out and show himself. Following this individual with her eyes, Falina and Taka looked above them. On a branch a pony was standing there, covered in clothings so they couldn't tell who it was. The two of them remained silent as they looked at him and listened.
Jolly stayed behind with Demetrius and his breezie friend still hanging onto his mane. It's only when this dark pony appeared that she hid herself again when everything was fine before. Jolly backed away a little to get behind Demetrius instead. Obviously he didn't want to be living this sort of situation... besides the stranger looked rather confident to be facing them all by himself.
It's then that the stranger would attack, unsheating his katana he had charged at Josiah right away after speaking of something that apparently belonged to him. Somehow... with this incredible speed, Josiah had managed to block this one remaining intact... or almost. Right away Taka gestured with his head to Falina. This one would use the magic of her weapon to make it appear. Seeing as how things were going, their opponent was going for Josiah again. Falina grabbed her spear and threw it at her enemy right away, awaiting his reaction. This wasn't just anyone they were facing...

This would be interesting. Sure he had fought battles before, but this one would be something special. They had certain magical levels that were enough to make him, at least, acknowledge them as somewhat worthy opponents. But as far as he was concerned, he'd still kill them all. Three of them, however, didn't had much magic level in them... this sand pony that had just blocked his sword swing out of pure luck, and that other purple pegasus as well as this maid.
That other one, however... he couldn't figure him out. What he sensed was strange, worked in a very unique and peculiar way. That dark pegasus wearing that robe. That golden griffon had something up his sleeve as well, but he'd be keeping an eye on that pegasus most. As for the angels, power. Lots of it, obviously. But he was stronger than them, hence why he didn't worry too much about those two. Right now, however, he was obviously out-numbered, an issue he'd have to solve, and fast. He was strong, yes, but dealing with multiple targets was obviously more difficult. He'd have to put the numbers a bit more in his favor, even if only temporary.
He'd recoil from the impact of sword on rifle as he'd then only glare to his left to see what was coming his way. He'd push his head back as the spear would pass right in front of his eyes. With his magic, he'd grip it and, spinning on himself for added momentum and force, would throw it back right at her. Seeing this, the griffon would charge right in, gold mesh gloves obviously off as he'd start with a run kick. The mysterious pony would manage to dodge it as he'd bend down. A vicious right hook would the be waiting for him. Immediately he'd bend backward as it would miss as well.
Gorudo would keep throwing punches and kicks at him with furious speed until the dark unicorn would find himself back against a tree. He'd throw a solid right hook at him only for the unicorn to dodge it again, bending sideway. The griffin's fist would smash on the bark, sending splinters of wood everywhere... the trunk would then begin to turn into gold. Seeing this, the unicorn would leap backward and land away from him.
????: Oh? How interesting. You will definitely be a nuisance.
From through his hood, his red eyes would glow bright as Gorudo still looked at him straight. It's only now, however, that something terribly wrong would happen. Land around the griffin would disappear, only for it to be replaced by darkness and nothingness. Floating in it, he'd look around him frantically, wondering what had just happened.
It wouldn't take too long for him to realize exactly what it was, however.
Gorudo: Illusion magic. I see. However, you would be a fool to think I haven't prepared myself for this as well...
Putting his claws together, the griffin would be surrounded by a golden aura, pushing away at the darkness. At this, the unicorn would let out an irritated grunt as he'd concentrate harder to compensate. Eventually, something would pierce through the bubble of his... and hit him, to his disbelief. That's as far as it would go, however. The black spike would go through his stomach, paralyzing him on the spot as he'd fall on his side... not having been protected that thing could have been much worst.
In reality, the only thing the others would see would be a stare off of about a second before between those two. The griffin would fall on his side, frozen stiff with no visible wounds. The unicorn would draw out his sword, about to finish him off when Josiah would fire a volley of magical bullets at him. Each of those projectiles strong enough to pierce trunks as they went out on full automatic.
One would graze his shoulder as the next one would be deflected by his sword... but the output of that thing made it impossible for him to stay there and take it all. He'd dash out of the way as Josiah would keep a lock on him, bullets zipping and hitting dirt, wood and rock near behind his target.
Josiah: Yeah, YEAH! What now, eh? EH?
As for Demetrius, he'd stay behind... He had to protect Jolly, Flower Dust as well as Madge... he'd only intervene if this guy showed to be too much... and ho boy he wouldn't go easy on him.
Demetrius: Stay behind... That unicorn's something.
He'd simply say, his voice being lot more serious than usual.

The spear was thrown back... well truly Falina was prepared for anything there. She didn't expect to land a hit directly as they begun to fight such a confident opponent. Her own spear now coming in her direction, with a simple trick of magic, the weapon would disappear in a small flash of light only to come back to her side. She'd let out a small sound of annoyance. As for Taka... he observed. That pony had seen the spear come and managed to dodge it pretty fast. After what Gorudo had jumped in to try and take an opportunity on him. Again the angel observed, looked at how they fought. Taking it back to when the mysterious pony first attacked Josiah and now adding this to what he was seeing, which was their griffin ally throwing in punches and kicks one after another while the other one managed to dodge everything... he could well conclude that their opponent was pretty darn good at close combat. This wouldn't be an easy one there...
Although what he saw next was rather surprising... something Taka hadn't seen coming. He thought at first that Gorudo could stand off against him at least for a little while before the others would help, but just now they were staring at each other and... bam. Gorudo fell on his side and was unable to fight any longer. They'd let out a gasp.
Falina: What happened?!
The angel would almost panic as she looked at Taka who still had his eyes on the mysterious pony. Not looking into his eyes, but simply at his whole being, teeth clenched as he was trying to figure out what happened in just a second. He'd try to do the maths there... Trying to figure out as fast as he could the reason as to why one would fall flat like that for almost no reason. Different possibilities quickly came to mind... perhaps a quick blow when Gorudo was in his chain, maybe a quick spell casted, but he saw no glow on the unicorn's horn... As for the fast blow, the reaction came way too late and the way he fell didn't show any signs of being hit anywhere.
Taka would retake his composure... taking a deep breath before releasing everything so he could be calm. Turning his eyes in direction of Falina, he'd finally give an answer.
Taka: His eyes... careful. Don't look at them.
He'd simply say. Truly this was the only explanation possible for this. Yet fighting without looking at him in the eyes would make the thing pretty hard as well. They wouldn't be able to read his movements as easily. Taking a second, Falina would nod before watching what was happening. Right as the strange unicorn was about to finish off Gorudo, he had been interrupted by Josiah firing at him endlessly. Now was their chance to do something while he was busy avoiding this stream of bullets. Without waiting any longer, Taka would stomp the ground and right away two knuckles would appear in a small bright flash similar to Falina's weapon. Right after what he'd dash off at a very high speed towards his enemy with one of his hooves stretched back. Once close enough, with enough speed and strenght he would unleash it all on him hoping to land a hit. If that strange unicorn was to turn his head towards him, Taka would look slightly away to avoid direct eye contact.
As for Jolly and Flower Dust, the two of them would do as Demetrius said and stay back... They couldn't intervene or anything, they weren't suited for battle at all. When the dark pegasus spoke, Jolly looked at him and nodded quickly before he'd go to watch the battle again.

Josiah wouldn't stop firing at his target, keeping the trigger squeezed as the sub machine gun would keep spewing out magical projectiles without end. However, this guy was one tough target to keep track of; sure Josiah wasn't a bad shot, above average, even... but he wasn't an expert markspony either. Whenever he finally had a shot at him, he would slip away at the last possible second, as if he knew just how close he was from getting him. If anything, it was extremely annoying as well as frustrating. Good thing that gun of his never ran out of ammo... he would've went out long ago.
Eventually the black unicorn would begin to get annoyed by this constant stream of projectiles coming his way. He'd leap into the air, using a tree as support and land right behind the sand pony. He'd dash toward him, Josiah still struggling to regain his aim, and slash at him with his katana. Josiah, standing on hind legs, would back away but trip on a root and fall on his back as the sword swing would go right above him. Rolling away as quickly as possible before the unicorn would get another shot at him, one of the two angels would come charging right at him with a wild and straight blow.
The hit would be easily avoided, however. Did he saw the actual punch? No. Did he sensed it? That he sure did. The more powerful an individual was, the more easily he could perceive and sense their power output and predict their movements even before they'd perform them. And this also worked the other way around, after one swing of his sword and one defensive maneuver from his opponent, he could decipher their defensive games and react accordingly. This is what made him so dangerous.
As that blow had been blocked, the black unicorn would ripost in quite a deadly manner. Firstly, he'd throw a solid forward stab right at his chest in order to destabilize him, then would follow multiple slashes from right to left, up and down and diagonal. He'd keep the pace for several seconds as he'd then suddenly spin on himself and slash at his legs, in the hope he'd just jump or take flight. Once in the air, he'd then proceed at making a full spin and slash at him with all his speed and strength straight at his neck.

Taka's straight blow wasn't coming without a second thought, though. As if he'd just throw himself in without a way to defend himself. He knew his opponent was a fierce one, but didn't think that this rapid punch would be dodged so easily. What he noticed while on his way was that the stranger didn't even bother to look at him. Passing through, Taka would give himself a boost with his wings to be able to avoid the first ripost attack, taking some distance with the opponent. This gave him enough time to turn around and face him again.
The attacker came back at him right away with more. Multiple slashes would come towards Taka and this one would start to block most of them as well as avoiding a few, seeing them coming. If anything, this angel was an expert at close combat so fast moves he could deal with them better than most. The stranger would then suddenly spin on himself and come back with another slash aiming for the legs. Surprised, Taka noticed and jumped up to avoid the hit.
He wasn't done yet, apparently. The mysterious pony instantly came back for another spin attack, putting all of his power into it. The angel hadn't left him from his sight, though. His horn would glow quickly and in an instant a bubble shield would form around him to block the attack. A loud klang was heard once the sword made impact with the shield and Taka was sent back from the blow. He tried to aim for his neck... this attack could have killed him there.
Lucky for him that hit was blocked. In the back Jolly looked at the scene and, obviously, he was terribly worried and afraid. He didn't need to be told that this mysterious pony was a bad one since he could just see it for himself. He looked briefly at Demetrius who stood there in front of them before coming back to the battle scene.
Taka had to make another move... besides he also had Falina to help him. Well... being one on one right now was giving him a disadvantage since this guy could just avoid his hits without even looking at him. The angel didn't even need to look at his friend that he could speak through telepathy with her to try and sort out a plan of attack. Once that done, Taka would once again rush in straight. He'd begin with several straight and fast punches to the face and body followed by a quick roundhouse kick aiming for the ribs.
Meanwhile, as Taka was trying to attack straight like this, Falina took her spear again and threw it in the air. Only this time the weapon was attached to a string of light which she could use to move the spear at a distance. And if she was to accidentally hit her ally with it, she could instantly call it back or pull it back to her. She was in total control of it, so no matter what she could simply call it back. Right about now, while Taka was attacking mercilessly, the spear would start to fall down right onto their opponent's head. She'd pull it back with the string of light after it went down enough to hit. The weapon would rise up and Falina would pull the string down and to her left in a diagonal way to bring the spear down again towards the stranger. She'd do this pretty much until it would be countered or that they'd win if this trick worked.

A shield? Hrm. So he knew some defensive spells as well? Once again, however, nothing he couldn't handle. Magic force fields were Celestia's royal guard's specialty, after all. He knew how to counter those as well... with relative ease. Here, however, he'd have to step things up a notch in order to penetrate it.
If there was something else he had realized too was that this angel was purposefully avoiding his sight. Had he already figured out his eye ability? Odds are he must've told his companion as well. He couldn't use his eye technique recklessly either, otherwise he'd found himself drained... he had to use it sparingly and make sure to make actual visual contact, otherwise it would all be for naught. The griffin would be out for several more minutes, at least... but that still left him with four more opponents to deal with.
Josiah meanwhile would get back on all fours, putting his rifle away as Taka would keep the mysterious unicorn occupied. He'd reach for one of his many pouch and pull out a green, oval-shaped, apple-sized object with a pin on top of it. Demetrius, being close enough to see what it was, would widen his eyes in surprise. It was a grenade. Though, seeing just how easily that guy could deflect just about anything... would throwing one of those really a good idea? Honestly, the dark pegasus was starting to have some serious doubts. But something told him the sand pony probably had a plan...
When Taka came in with his blows, the unicorn would, once again, make easy work of dodging or blocking the whole lot of them. That round house kick, however, came in as a bit of a surprise, raising his sword to block it as he'd rear and slide at the sheer strength of the attack. Using the strength of the blow, he's jump and spin over it, using the kick's force as leverage. Now above the unicorn's head, he'd rotate his body as his katana would start to glow, magic channeling through it in order to penetrate an eventual bubble shield, glowing bright red and looking stupidly sharp as it would start to emit a buzzing sound.
This would look like a final and quite lethal blow from his side... though, just as his katana was brought down on Taka, a spear would literally come out of nowhere, interrupting his offensive maneuver and transforming it into a defensive one as the spear would get knocked away by his sword.
Leaping in mid-air with the use of magic, he'd then land further behind. He'd take the time to asset the situation... though, before he'd have the chance...
Josiah: Hot potato! *Klunk!*
While they were busy fighting, Josiah had already pulled the pin on the grenade... let it cook in his hoof for a few seconds before knocking it away, using his rifle stock as a makeshift baseball bat, sending the explosive hurling toward the unicorn.
Given Josiah had no real magical potential, and this explosive device had no magical attributes either, the unicorn never saw it coming as it blew up, barely a few inches from his face, shrapnel flying everywhere as the detonation sent him tumbling in a different direction, crashing on a tree. Dazed, he'd still manage to recover, standing on all fours... with obvious wounds, however. His right cheek had been burnt and shredded by the blast, same for part of his neck and upper body. He'd turn around, looking at Josiah with a death glare, bleeding bad.
????: You... little shit!
Seeing he had landed a hit, Josiah would smirk, feeling a bit cocky all of then sudden.
Josiah: That's right sunshine, I'm still here! Hah!

After the roundhouse kick, Taka pretty much could predict that his opponent would find a way to avoid it despite his speed. So far this guy had managed to read his moves well, even without looking at him at first... His hoof stopped by the blade, the angel had kept pushing anyway, not stopping his move. This managed to give him some distance off with the enemy so he could recover. No big surprise for Taka now after he had already seen how well this stranger could fight in close combat. Thing was... he was also a fast one. Taka didn't have much time to react that he was already over him with his sword glowing red and ready to strike. This looked bad and the angel's horn began to glow, ready to cast a defensive spell. Thing was... he didn't really need to. Falina's spear came to the rescue just in time as it was now falling down on the mysterious one. This made him have to change his plan and throw in a defensive move instead of an offensive one. Very good then. Taka didn't lose this opportunity and stepped back quickly just as his opponent was distracted.
A loud clang was heard when Falina's weapon was intercepted by the katana. The spear flew up, spinning a few times and would suddenly be brought back towards Falina as the angel pulled on her light string. She noticed how her angel ally took some distance and would pretty much wait for him to give her the next command. Perhaps that the mysterious pony was experienced, but this right there was showing that fighting against more than one at a time was much more effective than just one at a time. They'd have to keep it like that... not to mention that Josiah was into this as well with his rifle.
Obviously the ones who couldn't fight were still in the back, watching the battle raging on and wondering if they would get out of this alive. Here Jolly certainly hoped so. Actually just seeing the angels cooperate like this gave him more hope. This would calm his thoughts a little, yet still not enough. He had never dealt with this sort of situation before and wasn't all too sure of how to deal with it either. Best he could do was to watch things happening and stay to safety with Demetrius.
Taka watched his enemy deal with Falina's blow and noticed how he too decided to rear back. This gave them a break. At least the angels could have a break, because next thing that happened was rather surprising. Something had gone towards the mysterious pony and simply blew up right next to his face. The angels didn't see this one coming for sure there. It was pretty sudden, but effective! After this explosion Taka saw the damage done by whatever was thrown. Just like that he couldn't tell at all what it was... truly the first time he had seen something like this, but he'd smirk at that.
Taka: Nice one!
He'd compliment right away. Yet now there would probably be some change in behavior as the mysterious pony seemed to be infuriated by this blast. Who wouldn't really? Still, something kinda bothered Taka there. Earlier on, when he charged straight at him, he had missed. His opponent had managed to dodge the blow without even looking at him. Then his barrage of attacks was completely avoided as well and Falina's spear, which came as a surprise, was also deflected. Without looking away from the enemy, that's where he'd want to know.
Taka: Hey, what was that thing anyway?
